January 2019: Allectra is pleased to announce the appointment of Benjamin L. Holmes as the new general sales manager of Allectra GmbH.
Ben brings a wealth of experience to this key position where he will have overall responsibility for technical sales for the GmbH company and European customer relationships.
Allectra has continued to build on its solid reputation for the delivery of complex and high profile projects and has further invested in manufacturing facilities and capabilities over the last two years.
Ben has been working in scientific instrumentation sales for many years, starting out in the sales office of Omicron Vakuumphysik in the early 1990s, where he was involved in the rapid growth in the use of STM for surface studies. In 1995 he moved to Rome to set-up the Italian operations for Omicron, where he spent 14 successful and exciting years selling, installing and supporting Ultra-High Vacuum STM, AFM, electron spectroscopy and growth systems. From 2009 Ben was sales manager for two research-based Atomic Force Microscopy companies, first Asylum Research, a renowned expert in piezo material characterisation and high-speed AFM, and successively for JPK instruments, the leading manufacturer of Bio AFM, a field dominated by cell mechanics and single protein unfolding.
With a broad experience both of UHV and surface science research in general, and familiarity with a research-oriented scientific instrument manufacturer’s needs, Ben is looking forward to working with Allectra and Allectra’s partners in delivering project successes and technological advancements across the company’s multiple scientific disciplines.
